Lightweight Presta tire pressure gauge option for bikepacking
Переглядів 7274 місяці тому
A small bike tire pressure gauge is tough to find. The smallest I've found is the Topeak SmartGauge, but it is still pretty bulky in my bag. This pencil style gauge option so small, you won't even notice it in your bag. It's cheap, simple, and doesn't require batteries. You just need to slightly modify a Presta-Schrader adapter to make it work.
DIY quick mounting bike packing rear rack for bikes.
Переглядів 5 тис.5 місяців тому
I designed this rear rack because most racks on the market are too heavy, take too long to mount, and are not compatible with my suspension seat post. For less than $30 I built this rack to carry a light rain jacket, or wind breaker. If you're interested in building or buying one of these racks, please let me know in the comments below. If you have any ideas for improvement, also please let me ...
Foodie San Francisco bike tour across 3 bridges. 10/20/30/50 mile options
Переглядів 4935 місяців тому
Here's a bike tour I created for the foodies and cyclists out there. The route takes you across the Bay Bridge, on a ferry from Treasure Island to the Ferry building. We bike across SF through Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Crissy Fields, across the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. Optionally, we continue onward to Mill Valley, visit the Rosie the Riveter museum, and finally ...
I made a DJI Action 2 charging holster for cycling + bike oriented review of Action2.
Переглядів 9065 місяців тому
I made an accessory for the DJI Action 2 that allows you to simply drop the camera into a charging holster. Now it's feasible to pull the camera out of the holster without fumbling to unlatch it, and no worry of the camera falling off because the latches didn't click. -Update: Unfortunately, I discovered the strength of the magnet isn't guaranteed to hold the DJI Action 2, I did have it bounce ...

This is a DIY Aerobar bag for storing a jacket, gloves or water bottle on your bike while you ride. This bag folds up small enough to fit in a jersey or pants pocket. No longer do I have to get off my bike to store a jacket in my saddle bag or panniers, I can quickly stash a jacket while waiting at a stop light. I used recycled ripstop nylon fabric from an old camping chair bag, but you could u...

They let us store our bike boxes in their luggage room for 3 weeks while we tour...

This is a servo controlled dust collection switcher I made for my bandsaw. When the bandsaw is turned on, the dust collection hose disconnects from my router, and switches over to the saw. I'm using a 12v linear actuator to automate the switching. Then climbed back up the canal wall like it was nothing. This is day 911 from our 18 day, 720 mile bike t...

The Gopro mount is from Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWR1ZML/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I changed out part of that mount that attaches to the stem with 2 bolts and 2 spacers. I made a new metal piece since the amazon part was wider than it needed to be and I didn't like how it looked. This is the DJI mount with charging www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PYF2NXJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In terms of changing gear in an electric, the bad is not leaving it revved up, but trying to draw lots of load at low rpm, so if your current meter is "in the red", you should downshift, but you can drive with the rpm pegged and it is actually healthier not to shift up too much, especially on hills.

With the terrible environmental footprint of EV's, my thoughts are to buy EV's that are headed to the scrapyard because the cost of battery replacement is not economically feasible and retrofit them with a diesel powered generator and a small, nonflammable Nickel metal hydride pack, like most other hybrids. Then, they will be "greener".

WOW, did this bring back the memories! My grandpa was an old-school small town news man, with a weekly local newspaper. His printing shop was FULL of antique printing presses like in this shop, although his were powered by motors and belts turning the flywheels. He had 2 linotypes, and lots of cases of type. His Newsprint press was similar to this one, except about twice as big; you had to stand on a little platform to get high enough to feed to press. The printed sheet ran under a row of gas flame that supposedly dried the ink. Occasionally, a sheet would catch fire, and Grandpa would grab it quick, drop it on the floor, and stomp out the flames, and then back to feeding the press! That monster shook the whole building when it was running! With these sights and sounds, I can almost smell that old shop!
